  • Dr Carly Lam (the Secretary of APCO) introduced the history and development of Asia Pacific Council of Optometry during the 2nd Johnson & Johnson Vision Care Contact Lens Leaders Summit 2008 which was held in 20-21 May 2008 in Shanghai, China.
  • The 16th Asia Pacific Optometric Congress was held in Goa, India on 3 - 7 October 2007. Invited lectures covered topics as Primary Care Optometry, The Clinical Picture and Mechanisms of Age-related Maculopathy, Overview of Anterior Segment Disorders, Down Syndrome, Refraction, Accommodation and Early Literary Skills and Computer Vision Syndrome (CVS). Forty-three papers were included on the scientific programme within the various sessions: Contact Lens Practice, Practice Models, Cornea and Tears, Myopia, Clinical Practice 1 & 2, Visual Function, Public Health, Contact Lens & Ortho-k. Speakers listed were from Australia, Canada, Hong Kong, India, Korea, Nepal, New Zealand, the Philippines, Singapore and the United States. More than 300 delegates from 11 various countries attended.
