Dear Friends,

On behalf of the organizing committee, it is my pleasure to invite you and your colleague to attend the 17^th Asia Pacific Optometric Congress (APOC), which will be held in Hong Kong SAR, on 5^th to 7^th November 2009.

This Congress is jointly hosted by the Asia Pacific Council of Optometry (APCO), the Hong Kong Society of Professional Optometrists, the Zhongshan Ophthalmic Centre, Sun Yat-sen University, China and The Hong Kong Polytechnic University.

For the 1^st day programme, a joint opening with the 17^th APOC cum the 7^th Hong Kong Optometric Conference (HKOC) will be held at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre. This will be the first time that APCO will act as a co-organizer with the Hong Kong Trade Development Council and the Hong Kong Optometric Association to collaborate on these two optometric events. Delegates will have the opportunity to visit the HKTDC Hong Kong Optical Fair which will be held in the same venue as well.

The 17^th APOC will consist of three day of invited lectures, scientific paper sessions and industrial sessions. The Gala Dinner will be held on 5^th November at the hotel of the Harbour Plaza Metropolis where you can enjoy the magnificent harbour view of Hong Kong.

Please take this opportunity to interact, contribute, learn and most of all have fun with your colleagues from around the world. Whether you have attended in the past (at Goa, India in 2007 or Tokyo, Japan in 2005), or you are a new delegate, you can be assured of an interesting and varied Congress program.
